Blair House Summit: Obama’s Moses Moment…Not so much!

Last Thursday, February 25th, the Obama Administration staged a ‘Health Care Summit’ at Blair House. It was to be the President’s President “Moses Moment,” when e would part the seas and bring the Republicans, Democrats and Our country together and get everyone on board his “much maligned” Federally Run Health Care Program. (ObamaCare 2.0). His approach would be to “Listen,” particularly to The Republicans and Independents, and then part the Seas of Conflict and pass through to the Promised Land of a compromise. Well, it was over, finally over, after 7 hours of heavy winds.

I'm a manager at an automotive supplier (and an old friend of yours from high school) whose business is threatened by a loophole in the Tread Act, which passed in 1999.
This Act is meant to protect motorists from the dangers of driving under conditions that could result in tire tread separation and rollovers. A loophole in the Tread Act allows for unsafe tire pressure monitoring systems to be used to detect a low tire condition.
Energy Competition
Our current energy policy is in desperate need of competition. Competition across state lines in the form of deregulation as well as competition in new energy sources must be a clear priority going forward. It is clear that the dependence on foreign oil will need to change and a series of new technologies and existing ones must be utilized. However, the restrictions placed upon the exploration of new domestic sources are tragically outdated and do not accurately reflect the advancements in current technology. Environmental concerns in the form of misplaced policy agendas force the United States to ship billions of dollars overseas to regimes that are at best lukewarm allies.
Newfoundland Premier Comes to United States for Heart Surgery
I saw something interesting toady. Premier Danny Williams from Newfoundland, Canada is coming to the United States to receive heart surgery. I guess even those leading Canada want to escape the disastrous experiment known as socialized medicine. We have the best healthcare system and the best doctors in the world. So again, why do we want a shoddy version of what is in Canada? They don't even trust the system to work for a population smaller than that of California. So how on earth is it going to work for us? Reform is needed but the current legislation is so heinous that it is clearly not the answer.

Congressman McCotter's Pamphlet is a beacon for conservative values. I recommend it to those who are looking for answers in this difficult time. It reminds us where we come from, but also where our country needs to go.
Today, we are acting like scared little children that are afraid of a thunder storm. America is wrapped up in a blanket of socialism and apathy. We are cowering in the corner hoping that our problems will just go away.
Obama continues to blindly throw taxpayers money at bridges to no where and studies of the mating patterns of field mice.
