Topline Summary: This bill authorizes and prioritizes funding for the Department of Defense (DoD) and military activities and construction, and prescribes military personnel strengths for Fiscal Year 2018. The bill authorizes $626.4 billion in base funding, including s $26.4 billion increase above the President’s initial and amended budget requests for essential readiness recovery. Further, the bill authorizes an additional $65.7 billion in the Overseas Contingency Operations fund (OCO) for to cover contingency operations. When factoring in $7.5 billion for mandatory defense spending, a total of $699.6 billion is authorized to be appropriated.
2) H.R. 2874 - 21st Century Flood Reform Act (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill reauthorizes the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for five years, introduces private market competition, and provides programmatic reform to help policyholders. An amendment in the nature of a substitute combines the amended text of H.R. 2874 with six additional Financial Services Committee reported NFIP bills: H.R. 1422, H.R. 1558, H.R. 2246, H.R. 2565, H.R. 2868, and H.R. 2875.
