Topline Summary: This bill 
reauthorizes four U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) medical product user programs through Fiscal Year 2022. They include programs for prescription drugs, medical devices, generic drugs, and biosimilar biological products. In addition, the bill includes provisions to improve the development, review, and regulation of drugs and medical devices.

2) H.R. 2664 - Enhancing Detection of Human Trafficking Act (PDF)

Sponsor: Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) | Education and the Workforce Committee

Topline Summary: This bill directs the Secretary of Labor to train DOL personnel to detect trafficking and assist law enforcement in preventing trafficking.

3) H.R. 2480 - Empowering Law Enforcement to Fight Sex Trafficking Demand Act (PDF)

Sponsor: Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) | Judiciary Committee

Topline Summary: This bill expands the ability of the Department of Justice’s Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grants Program (Byrne JAG) to enable law enforcement agencies to compete for federal funding, specifically to develop and carry out programs that fight sex trafficking demand.

4) H.R. 2200 - Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2017, as amended (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill reauthorizes funding for the United States Government multi-agency international and domestic anti-human trafficking efforts, pursuant to the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA), which is set to expire on September 30, 2017.

1) H.R. 23 - Gaining Responsibility on Water Act of 2017, Rule Committee Print (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill modernizes water policies throughout the western United States and provides drought relief and water reliability in the State of California.

2) H.R. 2810 - National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018, Rules Committee Print (PDF)

Sponsor: Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) | Armed Services Committee

Topline Summary: This bill H.R. 2810 authorizes and prioritizes funding for the Department of Defense (DoD) and military activities and construction, and prescribes military personnel strengths for Fiscal Year 2018. The bill authorizes $613.8 billion in base funding, including a $28.5 billion increase above the President’s budget for essential readiness recovery. Further, the bill authorizes an additional $10 billion in the Overseas Contingency Operations fund (OCO) for base requirements, and an additional $64.6 billion in the OCO fund to cover contingency operations. When factoring in $7.5 billion for mandatory defense spending, a total of $695.9 billion is authorized to be appropriated.
