1) S. 772 - AMBER Alert in Indian Country Act of 2017, as amended (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill reauthorizes the Amber Alert Communication grant program through 2019 and clarifies that these grants may be distributed to Indian tribes, in addition to states.

2) H.R. 767 - SOAR to Health and Wellness Act of 2018, as amended (PDF)

Sponsor: Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) | Energy and Commerce Committee

Topline Summary: This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish a pilot program called “Stop, Observe, Ask, and Respond (SOAR) to Health and Wellness Training” to: (1) identify potential human trafficking victims; (2) work with law enforcement to report and facilitate communication with such victims; (3) refer victims to social or victims service agencies or organizations; (4) provide such victims with coordinated care tailored to their circumstances; and, (5) consider integrating this training with existing training programs.

3) H.R. 880 - MISSION ZERO Act, as amended (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill establishes a grant program for qualified military personnel to provide trauma care in civilian trauma centers.

4) H.R. 1222 - Congenital Heart Futures Reauthorization Act of 2017, as amended (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to enhance surveillance capabilities to track the epidemiology of congenital heart disease (CHD) and to provide grants to study the epidemiology of CHD across the lifespan.

5) H.R. 2410 - Sickle Cell Disease Research, Surveillance, Prevention, and Treatment Act of 2017 (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to conduct surveillance and collect data on the prevalence of sickle cell disease (SCD)

6) H.R. 2422 - Action for Dental Health Act of 2017 (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill authorizes $18 million in each of the fiscal years 2018 through 2022 the oral health promotion and disease prevention programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and expands initiatives to enhance oral health education and community-wide dental disease prevention.

7) H.Res. 443 - Recognizing the importance and effectiveness of trauma-informed care, as amended (PDF)

Topline Summary: This resolution recognizes the importance, effectiveness, and need for trauma-informed care among existing federal programs and agencies, and would encourage the use of trauma-informed care within the federal government.

1) H.R. 5078 - TRID Improvement Act of 2018, as amended (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill modifies requirements related to mortgage disclosures and offers clarification to consumers and regulatory relief to financial institutions. In addition, this bill creates a reporting environment that leads to more accurate credit scores, which delivers increase access to stable and more affordable credit for consumers.

2 Rule Bills 

1) H.R. 4296 - To place requirements on operational risk capital requirements for banking organizations establishes by an appropriate Federal banking agency, Rules Committee Print (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill restricts banking regulators from establishing operational risk capital requirements (the amount of money and non-cash assets banks are required to hold in reserve) for banking organizations.

2) H.R. 1865 - Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017 (PDF)

Sponsor: Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO) | Judiciary Committee

Topline Summary: This bill attempts to combat online sex trafficking by providing new tools to law enforcement through a new federal criminal statute and by making it easier for states to prosecute criminal actor websites by amending Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
