Topline Summary: This bill makes several modifications to the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Credit Risk Management, which is tasked with ensuring all 7(a) loans meet statutory and regulatory standards, and strengthens the “credit elsewhere” test to ensure 7(a) loans are reserved for small firms who do not have access to credit in traditional markets, among other things.

Topline Summary: This bill nullifies a bulletin published by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) that provides guidance to lenders who finance automobiles through a dealership in compliance with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA). (CFPB Bulletin 2013–02 (March 21, 2013). Furthermore, S.J. Res. 57 ensures the CFPB does not issue substantially similar rules.

Topline Summary: This bill would amend the Clayton Act and the Federal Trade Commission Act to align certain procedures followed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) when it reviews a proposed merger or acquisition with the procedures followed by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

2) H.R. 2152 - Citizens’ Right to Know Act of 2017 (PDF)

Topline Summary: This bill requires state or local governments that receive funds under Department of Justice (DOJ) grant programs that use such funds for a pretrial services to annually report the amount of funds received by the pretrial services program and certain information about participating defendants. Additionally, the bill requires the DOJ must publish the information and must reduce the grant allocation of a state or local government that fails to comply.
